Light Speed Individual Open Buzzer Quiz: News 22: 27th February 2004

Sunday at Rainhill on February 29th and Music on March the 6th in Manchester

Don’t forget Sunday at the Victoria start time is 11 o’clock with an hour for lunch at 1 o'clock and finish by four PM. We have some very tasty new competitors coming down including Jim Prendergast, Margaret Howe & friends, Colin Shaw and David Edwards (who obviously needs the money). Pat Gibson will be sitting out a Mastermind special, so if anybody else would like to bring some questions for him to add to my salvo, I am sure we can groom our man for the main event. (Anybody else who is on Mastermind this year mail your subjects to me and I will prepare a test sheet for you).

Après Buzzer Quiz Music Quiz, Manchester, March 6th

Great News! After the Buzzer Quiz event at Manchester Grammar on Saturday, there will be a Light Speed Music Quiz only 800 meters from the school gates at:

The pub is half way between the school and Levenshulme station at the junction of the A 5079 (Kingsway) and the B 5093 (Moseley Road). From the school turn left out of the school gates, First right and after 500 m. bear left onto Moseley Road and you are there.

The bosses Barney and his wife Julie run a pub which is on February’s nomination list for CAMRA pub of the month, and they do food on a Saturday night. It sounds ideal as if there are a few of us we are welcome in the bar and if there are a lot we can use a room. This LSQ will not be ‘official’ but I promise you it will be great fun (as those of you who have seen it will testify). All kinds of music will be covered, but especially British Hit singles. Kick Off will be about 7:00 P.M.

Todmorden on Sunday 28th March

Same times as above. I do believe that Dave Tilley, has not only got us the great venue of the Conservative Club, but the steward is also putting some food on. There will be a few new faces here and it is conveniently on the border between Yorkshire and Lancashire. Don't forget to put your clocks forward!

The Tod Con Club is in Fielden Square, on Rochdale Road, just by the Safeway supermarket, where there is a large amount of parking
